Careers Guidance

At River Tees Hospital School, we are dedicated to building an evolving careers programme that empowers young people to choose the career path that is right for them. Our comprehensive careers curriculum is designed to enhance and improve the careers provision for the children we teach, aligning with the Gatsby Benchmarks to ensure high-quality guidance and support.

To assess and refine our careers support, we utilise Compass+, an online self-evaluation tool that allows us to measure our performance against the Gatsby Benchmarks and the national average. This helps us identify areas for improvement and ensure that our pupils receive the best possible guidance.

We understand the critical importance of providing careers advice and preparing all students for their next steps. To support this, we have embedded Preparation for Adulthood lessons into our weekly timetable, ensuring that every pupil can explore their future options.

In addition, our internal careers coordinator offers dedicated careers advice and guidance sessions, helping pupils make informed choices about their career paths. Through these initiatives, we aim to equip our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed in their future endeavours.

Together, we are committed to nurturing the aspirations of our students and guiding them towards fulfilling and rewarding careers.
