Uniform

At River Tees Hospital School, we believe that a school uniform plays a vital role in fostering a sense of belonging and community among our pupils. All students are expected to wear the designated school uniform, which is designed to be sensible, appropriate, and easily accessible for parents. 

Our uniform policy is designed to ensure that all pupils present themselves in a manner that reflects the values of our school. We kindly ask all parents to ensure their children arrive at school dressed in the correct uniform, supporting us in upholding these high standards of appearance throughout their time at the hospital school.

By working together, we can create an atmosphere that promotes pride in our school community and encourages a focus on learning.

Uniform Requirements

• Hospital School Jumper* (required)

• Hospital School Tie* (required)

• Plain Black Trousers or Skirt (trousers should not be skin-tight, denim, or leggings; skirts should be at least knee-length)
• Plain White Shirt / Polo Shirt
• Black, sensible school shoes (no trainers, boots, or shoes with fashion/sports logos)
• Black Socks or Plain Black Tights
• Jewellery Policy: No jewellery is permitted, except for a watch. Any piercings should be done at the start of the summer holiday to allow time for healing, as they will need to be removed while on school premises.
• Footwear Policy: If a pupil is not wearing the correct footwear and does not have a medical note, they will be loaned a pair of school shoes for the day. 

If a pupil is wearing skin-tight leggings or a short skirt, parents/carers will be contacted to provide appropriate alternatives.
