Free School Meals

Free School Meal Online Application

For more information and to apply online for free school meals, please click here to visit the Middlesbrough Council website.

At River Tees Hospital School, we are committed to providing healthy and nutritious meals that are freshly cooked on-site each day. Our menu offers a variety of hot and cold meal options, along with different desserts and fruits each day. Each morning, children can choose their meal, ensuring they receive the food they enjoy.

If your child has specific dietary requirements or allergies, please inform us so we can accommodate their needs. We adhere to the guidance on Health Food in Schools and are dedicated to ensuring that pupils are not exposed to allergens. Our menus are thoughtfully planned to meet cultural and religious requirements while promoting healthy eating habits.

Many of our pupils are eligible for a free school meal, including those whose parents receive:

  • Income-Based Jobseekers Allowance / Income Support
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Guarantee Element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (if you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and your yearly income is less than £16,190)

If your child requires a paid meal, our school office will contact you to discuss payment options.

You can request a free school meal application form from our school office. We are happy to assist you in completing the form, but it must be returned to the Local Authority for processing.

Children are welcome to bring their own packed lunches to school. We encourage healthy choices to support their wellbeing.

Important Note: River Tees Multi-Academy Trust academies are nut-aware environments to ensure the safety of all our pupils and staff.
